We Were Soldiers (WWS) is our signature scenario game here at DFW Adventure Park. It is based off the movie with Mel Gibson and the book We Were Soldiers Once… And Young by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore. Our game reenacts the battles that both sides encountered in the Ia Drang Valley of 1965. 

In 2011, we introduced new units on both sides, each with their own specific role in the game.  Rather than being based off of the one particular battle from years before, the game followed three different battles and events that happened during the Vietnam war. 

This year in 2012, we are going more in depth with the individual battles. For instance, the Green Beret unit will be "air dropped" into the back field, and will have to make their way through boobie traps, maze-like trails, and the elite Viet Cong unit that is hiding in the woods to intercept them. Some players may see parts of our field that no one else has ever played on. New units aren't the only thing. Our new rule system that was introduced at our Pegasus Bridge game last March adds depth to the game by allowing more options to eliminate the opposition. 

Players will be put to the test under the command of top scenario players to complete missions and objectives that simulate the struggles each side faced during the intense battles. If you're new to scenario games or even new paintball, this game still has a place for you. Each player gets a packet with a map and credentials. This allows you to know where to go depending on what unit you are assigned to. A basic outline of the rules and special rules is in the packet. As a new player, you will be able to shadow some more experienced players for a while to get the hang of scenario play and learn some tricks of the trade. As an experienced player, you will be challenged like you have never been, no matter what side you chose! If you like to be sneaky, there is plenty of opportunity for you to outflank your opponents. If you are more "up close and personal" there are parts of the field where there are no safe angles. Around every corner they may be someone ready to take you out! 

You will see some things at this game that you wouldn’t see at any another field or a regular Saturday game. Rocket launchers, booby traps using paintball mines, grenades, simulated flash bangs, gun boats, heavy gunner paintball guns, sniper rifles, pistols, landing craft, simulated timed explosives, real helicopters, and more will make your paintball experience come to life and make you really feel like you're the action hero in the movies or video games you love.
